No-exam life insurance
Which applicants qualify for expedited decisions, how the process works, and what to expect if you don't qualify for it.
Many carriers now offer expedited underwriting: within certain age and coverage limits, carriers use the application, pharmacy history, driving records, and other data sources to reach a decision instead of requiring a physical exam. Approvals can sometimes come back within the same business day. Each quote shown here will indicate whether an exam is required, possible, or not needed for that specific product.
What it changes
Waiving a medical exam does not mean skipping review. Your written answers get verified, and any policy issued based on false information can be rescinded within the initial two years. If the carrier's records trigger concerns, they may still request an exam or lab tests; at that point, you decide whether to move ahead.
Who tends to qualify
Generally, applicants younger than 60 who are within the carrier's coverage limits, with a clean medical background and no tobacco use within the past year or so. If you've had recent lab work done at a doctor's appointment, many carriers will accept those results rather than ordering another exam.
Should an exam be part of your application, expect a 20 to 30 minute appointment with a paramedical examiner, available at your residence or workplace in the Vista area, at no charge to you. For many healthy applicants, an exam can lead to a better rate class, so it's not always disadvantageous.
